Healthy(ER) Edible Cookie Dough!

I adore cookie dough, but it’s definitely not the healthiest option! And if you’re pregnant or nursing you have to worry about raw eggs as well.

SO I have fixed up a healthy(ER) edible cookie dough that’s as close to guilt-free as you can get!

1 cup organic gluten free flour

⅔ cup organic chocolate chips

½  cup or less organic white chocolate chips *optional*

½ cup organic unsalted butter

¼ cup almond flour

(optional ¼ cup rolled oats, dried cranberries, or sunflower seeds)

¼ cup organic cane sugar

(if you’d like to replace cane sugar with a healthier substitute, use ¼ cup of coconut sugar or a 1 tablespoon of agave nectar instead! But beware you might need to add a bit more flour to get the right texture)

1-2 scoops organic protein powder or organic meal replacement.

I chose

Garden of Life raw organic meal replacement.

It’s light and full of nutrients plus it’s very low in sugar and high in protein and fiber!

1 teaspoon organic himalayan sea salt

1 teaspoon organic vanilla extract

1 ziploc bag

Step 1:

Add flour, meal, and protein powder into a medium size bowl.

Then add sea salt.

now mix.

Step 2:

Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.

Step 3:

Now add butter mixture to flour mixture and mix.

Step 4:

Add chocolate, white chocolate, and carob chips and mix.

Option: You can always add oats, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, or dried cranberries to the mixture!

Step 5:

Dough should be a little wet, unlike a usual cookie dough texture. That’s ok! Add dough to a ziploc bag and refrigerate for a half hour, let dough slightly soften and then serve!

This yummy cookie dough can be used as a dessert dip with thin graham crackers or my favorite, you can roll it into balls and refrigerate for a quick snack on the go! Preferably before or after a workout!

(I just had to show off my peonies in the corner)  😉

  2. This looks delicious. I’m skeptical of the flavor difference in gluten-free foods. Guess I won’t know until I try. But in regards to the protein powder, does it leave a chalky taste in the dough or overpower it in any way?

Thank you for sharing. I love knowing we would both turn to cookie dough for a snack 😉
